What is a Solar Return Report?

My maternal grandmother perfected the art of wishing someone for their Birthday, and usually spent at least five or ten minutes holding their hand, while uttering long sentences of sincere words of intent, wishing them a long life, joyfulness, good health, success, and prosperity. She always used the words “wishing you many happy returns”. As a young child, I thought these words were merely a well-worn phrase, used by many. I smiled when I realised the truth of those words, how the Sun, (as well as the other Solar system planets) returns to its original position (exact degree) that it was at the moment we were born, like giant clock-work annually. Wishing someone “many happy returns” is in fact wishing them a long life, with everything else implied.

So, your Solar Return happens every year around your Birthday, which to the exact degree, happens at different times each year, sometimes on the day of your Birthday, or sometimes a day before, or after. In other words, if the Sun was at 08° Leo in the Tropical Zodiac, at the exact moment you were born, each year when the Sun returns to 08° Leo would be your Solar Return.
