Deborah-Anne Swanepoel is a Professional Astrologer, Numerologist, and Independent Author & Publisher.
As a self-taught Astrologer, Deborah-Anne, completed her advanced Weather Astrology studies, with Karen James, of the Sky Guide Academy of Professional Astrology, and was awarded the ‘Advanced Weather Astrology Certificate’ – with Distinction – in February 2026.
The course resulted in the publication of the eBook titled ‘Arniston’ Shipwreck 1815, Weather Astrology: The Gales that Shipwrecked the ‘Arniston’ in 1815, authored by Deborah-Anne Swanepoel, and published by Cigno Astro (Pty) Ltd., which will be available for download from the Cigno Astro Online Shop.
As a Southern Hemisphere Astrologer, Deborah-Anne is a proponent of using Southern Hemisphere charts, placing the Ascendant on the Right, for Southern Hemisphere locations, as the Sun rises on our Right when facing North in South Africa, as well as in the rest of the Southern Hemisphere. Up until recently, Southern Hemisphere Astrologers had been restricted to utilizing astrological software, which could only produce Northern Hemisphere astrological charts, placing the Ascendant on the Left.
Deborah-Anne collaborated with Jean Cremers, in the Netherlands, whose innovative and pioneering spirit created the Right Ascendant astrological chart, for the first time in the world, with his break-through on 13 August 2025, in his free AstroBasic open-source Astrology software, Planetdance. In March 2026, Deborah-Anne completed the late Alexander Kolesnikov’s Numerology Course, and is influenced further by Matthew Oliver Goodwin, David A. Phillips, and L. Dow Balliett. She has also created the The Cigno Astro Numerology Word Search, Volume 1, which will be available for download from the Cigno Astro online shop.
Deborah-Anne is a Member of the Community of Southern African Professional Astrologers (COSAPA) (Reg. No. 276), since its launch in January 2024; a Country Member of the Astronomical Association of Southern Africa (ASSA), and has a long-standing relationship with the Centre for Astronomical Heritage (CfAH) in South Africa, having been granted permission to utilise their astro-photography, and Heritage Full Moon names – devised specifically by Astronomers for the Southern Hemisphere and South Africa, for content and illustrations for her Astrological work.
Deborah-Anne wrote for the ‘Astrology South Africa’ (ASA) blog in 2024, and published four articles titled, The Astrology Enthusiasts’ Astro-Guide to the Netflix Documentary Series, ‘Beckham’, Parts 1-4. Deborah-Anne subsequently compiled her articles into a comprehensive eBook, featuring various astrological charts, additional new information, and reference sources, which could not at the time be published online with the articles. The full eBook, The Comprehensive Astro-Guide To ‘Beckham’, The Astrology Enthusiast’s Companion Guide To The Netflix Documentary Series, is now available, for free download, from the Cigno Astro online shop.
Deborah-Anne has traded as a Vendor at Holistic Markets, in Cape Town, and is known there for her framed Natal Astrology Certificates, which she custom-designs for Clients, and extends these also to Relationship Astrology Certificates, Venus Star Point Certificates, Elven Star Certificates with Sabian Symbols, as well as Pet Astrology Certificates.
As an Astrologer Practitioner, Deborah-Anne practices, writes and publishes under the name Cigno Astro, is committed to running an Ethical Practice, and is the Director of the company Cigno Astro (Pty) Ltd., registered in July 2024. Deborah-Anne designs the company’s website, and carries curated astrological retail products for sale in its Online Shop.
Deborah-Anne resides in Cape Town, South Africa, with her husband and two children.
